2009 Quarters Include US Territories By Jl Winther Even though I've heard for years that this is now "a global economy," I was surprised to find a Guam quarter and two American Simoa quarters among my US coins. A quick search online revealed that in 2009 the United States is coining four more US territory quarters, bringing the total to six US territory quarters in addition to America's 50 state quarters. The other four territory quarters represent Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Mariana Islands. Mariana Islands will be available some time in November.
