Rittenhouse Park

New Castle County, Delaware Rittenhouse Park is a small but charming park in New Castle County, Delaware. It is a passive park that has a gorgeous stream that flows through it and plenty of large, mature trees. The beauty of the stream with the accompanying sounds of moving water and rustling leaves makes it a very peaceful place to walk or sit and enjoy the views and relax. Rittenhouse Park is located on West Chestnut Hill Road not far from Route 896. It boasts few amenities, but it does have a walking bridge to cross the stream, a pavilion and a swing set. The park is kept clean and it is family friendly. Occasionally the park hosts small groups of people, often youth groups. Kids seem to love to walk and climb along the banks looking for turtles and anything else they can find. The park is adequately peopled creating a family-friendly, safe feeling, but it never seems to be crowded. Locals all know that Rittenhouse Park is a great place to bring children and teach them to fish. The stream is stocked each year in advance of trout season. According to rumor Velveeta cheese is the bait that really brings in the trout. If you're in the area take a little time to stop by Rittenhouse Park and enjoy its serene beauty. When you have plenty of time to spend you will probably want to come back with a chair, a camera, a soft drink, a good book, a fishing pole. Maybe you'll even want to show Rittenhouse Park to a friend.
