Should You Use Folders for Online Content?
By Jl Winther
Using folders for online content Originally I decided to organize my online articles by using folders, similar to having chapters in a book. The folders for organization worked nicely, but there was one HUGE glitch. The titles of my folders were the same as the titles of the works of others. Therefore, when I signed out and visited my site, I found to my horror that my folder links directed visitors to other writers' articles. It's true. My folders links did not direct readers to my own articles. Since the Internet lumps all the works under the same titles together without prejudice, my articles were not to be found any time soon by clicking on my folders. I felt that others were stealing my link, but now I know that is just how the Internet works. So I decided to sacrifice organization for good, clean direct links to my articles. Afterall, I wrote them to be found and read! Didn't you? |

Thank you for sharing this valuable information, Jl. I don't completely understand, but I will study this situation further. Keep up the good work. Best wishes. Frederick

Hi Frederick, I notice you don't have folders for your Intel. You could make a folder called "Fitness" and put your various senior exercise Intel into it, similar to creating chapters in a book. But what if someone else has Intel or a folder that's also named "Fitness?" Then a click on your folder to access your exercise articles might take the visitor to someone else's Intel instead. So, having folders is not for me. Thanks for your encouragement. Best, J
How do you make folders on Qondio?
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
Hi Bill, You go to your dashboard and select "View Intel List." At the upper right is a link to "Add New Folder." Click it and fill in a folder name and a folder description. Then you can move intel in your into your new folders by clicking the block at the right of each Intel and scrolling down to the bottom of the page to "Move to Folder" of your choice. I hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by. Best, J
