Space Saving Flower Pot Garden
By J L Winther
Make a gorgeous upright flower pot garden quickly and easily with a four foot piece of rebar and about five flower pots with drainage holes in the bottom. Just buy some inexpensive rebar at a home improvement center and press it deep inside the ground. Next go through your gardening supplies to find some leftover pots. Slide them down the rebar and tip them in different directions until you're satisfied with the way they look. For an especially warm and sentimental garden, use pots from your daughter's wedding or let the grand kids paint them and put their hand prints on them. Plant petunias or anything you especially enjoy to have a lovely outdoor garden that needs only a small space.

Make one, it's really fun. I'm getting ready to replant mine on Mothers Day. --Thanks for your input!
I have just the spot! I was going to plant a shrub there but .. I think that this will be a fun project! Thanks.
Hmmmm I am thinking of trying this with the half barrels they sell at the hardware store. These are old whiskey barrels that have been cut in half for planters. I might need to get a heavier center pipe to support the weight.

Good idea. Much of the weight is supported by each pot resting on the one below it. My expert suggests trying 1" galvanized steel pipe cut to your length by some place like Home Depot. You could drive it about 18" into the ground or cement it. Thanks.
